Gary L. Adams, Sr., age 64, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 08, 2012 in his home. Born September 12, 1947 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late George W. and Gladys L. Hill Adams.
A machinist, Gary worked for Landis Tool Company for 36 years, retiring in November 2009. An avid outdoorsman, Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and he enjoyed bowling. All that aside, his most dear interest was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Fay Cordell Adams, whom he married on May 29, 1970; two sons, Randy L. Adams of Chambersburg and Gary L. Adams, Jr. of Lake Forest, CA; seven grandchildren, Eriq, Ryan, Bethany, Faith, Jared, Lane, and Brody Adams; and two siblings, Carol Franzwick of Fayetteville, PA and Patricia Kennedy of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy L. Adams.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church, 2509 Black Gap Rd., Chambersburg, PA; with Rev. Garry Culler officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his name to the above name church and address or to the Celtic Hospice of Carlisle, 220 Wilson St., suite 100, Carlisle, PA 17013. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
