Gary Johns

Gary W. Johns, 83, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Brookview Health Care Center. Born May 28, 1938 in Orrstown, he was the son of the late Alvin Ray and Rachel Cramer Johns. His beloved wife, Bonnie Hostetter Johns, preceded him in death on February 28, 2017.

Gary was employed as a machinist with Chambersburg Engineering, Mack Truck and Ingersol Rand. Most recently he was employed at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission until his retirement. Gary was a long time member of King Street United Brethren Church in Chambersburg where he was also a member of the New Life Sunday school class. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on and collecting antique cars and loved dogs.

He is survived by two children, Alan R. Johns (wife Kim) of Greencastle, and Karen J. Gayman (husband Rodney) of Chambersburg; and four grandchildren, Renee, Dana, Jacob and Caleb.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 17, 2021 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Ronald Cook will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
