Gary Quivers

Gary Lee Quivers, Sr., 60, of Charleroi, PA, died unexpectedly due to complications of surgery on Thursday, April 19, 2012 in the Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born on October 22, 1951 in Chambersburg, he was a son of John and Margaret (Ridout) Quivers, of Chambersburg.
Gary grew up in Chambersburg, attending the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church. He worked for Columbia Gas in Bridgeville, PA as a heavy equipment operator.
Aside from his parents he is survived by his wife, Sally Horst Quivers, whom he married on December 4, 1980; four children, Monica Yeager Miller of Chambersburg, Rene Quivers Libolt of Pinesville, OR, Gary Lee Quivers II of Charleroi, and Matthew R. Quivers of Carroll Twp, PA; four brothers, Jeffery A. of Cincinnati, OH, Charles N., Steven M. and Thomas C., all of Chambersburg; 5 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John E. Quivers Jr and William L. “Bill Quivers, and a nephew, William L. II.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 25, in the chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg, with Rev. Dr. Allie Harper officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM at the funeral home on Wednesday.
