George DeFonzo

June 11, 1932 — April 6, 2018

George J. DeFonzo passed away at Leland of Laurel Run, Waynesboro, PA on April 5, 2018. George was born, June 11, 1932 in Pittsburgh PA. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Nicholas and Jennie DeFonzo, his first wife Fern and three siblings.
George was the beloved husband of Joan L. DeFonzo of Chambersburg; step-children, William A. Bogler (Robin), Thomas M. Bogler (Denise), Stephen E. Bogler, Virginia L. Murphy (Terry); six step-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren. George is also survived by seven nieces and nephews of Pittsburgh, PA.
George was an Army Veteran, a member of the Mont Alto Senior Activity Center, and a Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 17th from 10:00 am – 12:00 Noon at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 pm at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA. Interment will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mont Alto Senior Activity Center, Mont Alto Fire Hall, 517 South Main Street, Mont Alto, PA 17237.
