George Jones

George F. Jones, 87, formerly of Fayetteville, PA, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 29, in the Village of Laurel Run, Adams County. Born on May 11, 1923 in Fayetteville, he was a son of the late George W. Jones and Bessie N. McNew Jones. A U.S. Army veteran, George was a lifelong farmer. He had also worked for Fayetteville Contractors and Guilford Township. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Alice Jones of Chambersburg, and a nephew, Ben Jones of Gettysburg. Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen and a brother, William. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, April 1, in the chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, with visitation from 9-10 AM. Rev. Thomas Willis and Rev. Mike Baumgardner will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
