George P. Loukopoulos, age 78, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away in the Chambersburg Hospital on Friday, September 20, 2013. Born in Arahova, Greece on June 13, 1935, he was the son of the late Periklis and Katerina Regas Loukopoulos.
A foundry worker by trade, George dedicated 25 years at T.B. Wood’s and Company, where he retired in 1996. Well known as a “Jack of all Trades”, George enjoyed woodworking and handyman repair work for family and friends.
Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Theodora Panagos Loukopoulos, whom he married on June 6, 1965; three children, Eleni “Lena” Kontogiannis (husband Vasilios “Bill”) of Chambersburg, Periklis “Perry” Loukopoulos (wife LeeAnn) of Chambersburg, and Konstantinos G. Loukopoulos of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, John and George Kontogiannis, Theodora “Dori” and Sophia Loukopoulos; and two brothers, Konstantinos and Panagiotas Loukopoulos of Athens, Greece. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eleni Loukopoulos.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 2 PM at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, 2063 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA; where Fr. Kosta Petrogeorge will officiate. The family will receive friends in the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
