George Stuart Mouer, Sr., 87, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 13, 1929 in Franklin County, he was a son of the late Stuart E. and Frances McNew Mouer of Fayetteville. He worked as a minister, serving the Lord’s purpose at the Fayetteville Church of God, for more than fifty years. George also worked at Frick Company and T.B. Woods for a number of years.
George was preceded in death by his loving wife, Romaine Gsell Mouer, to whom he had been married for sixty-four years; a brother Tom Mouer; and three sisters, Betty Mickey, Violet Shockey, and Janet Baker.
George is survived by a daughter, Cinda Gilbert of Fayetteville, and a son, George Mouer, Jr. and wife Pam of Biglerville; five granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Peggy Peterson of Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 23, 2017 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Jack Cook will officiate. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday and from 9:00-10:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
