George Stiffler

January 14, 1959 — November 25, 2014

George Merle Stiffler, Jr., age 55, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 as a result of injuries suffered from a motorcycle accident. Born in Chambersburg, PA on January 14, 1959, he was the son of Shirley Davis Brubaker and George Merle Stiffler, Sr.

A US Army veteran, George served his country honorably for over 12 years. He last worked as a laborer for Lane Enterprises, Inc. in Shippensburg, PA. He was a member of the AMVETS Post 224 and ABATE of PA, Keystone Chapter, where he served as Sergeant of Arms. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, volunteering, wrestling, and grilling.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two children, Victoria Nobles (husband Chester of MO) and Mellisa Oranday (husband Nick) of TX; his companion, Suzanne Lamperti and her son, Kevin of Hagerstown, MD; two grandsons, Gabriel Stiffler and Quinton Oranday; six siblings, Janet Stopyra (companion David Buterbaugh) of Shippensburg, PA, Melony Miller (husband Robert) of Biglerville, PA, Dody Traylor (husband John) of TN, Thomas McCurdy (companion Allison Beaston) of East Berlin, PA, Georgianna Vickery of TX, and Eva Lynn Ujean of St. Thomas, PA; four step brothers, David (wife Ruth) of McConnel lsburg, PA, Ed of New Franklin, PA, Gary (wife Jeannette) of York, Pa, and Jay Brubaker (wife Bonnie of Chambersburg, PA; and one step sister, Esther Akers (husband Gary) of St. Thomas, PA. He was preceded in death by two step fathers, Thomas McCurdy and Glen Brubaker.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Pastor Joseph Stopyra will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment with military honors provided by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Rd., Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
