Gerald S. “Jerry” Brown, 61, of Twinsburg, OH and formerly of Chambersburg, died Friday, January 25, 2013 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born December 11, 1951 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late James Brown Sr. and Margaret Burkhart Brown. A graduate of Chambersburg High School, Jerry worked for Scientific Games Corporation as a Project Manager. His job took him to many different states including, Florida, South Dakota, Ohio, and most recently Washington, DC. He was an avid NASCAR fan, Jeff Gordon fan, and Steelers fan. Jerry very much enjoyed traveling. A US Navy veteran, Jerry served his country during the Vietnam Era. He was a life member of the Detrich-Brechbill Post 612 American Legion, St. Thomas, Hume-McNeal-Byers AMVETS Post 224, Chambersburg, and the Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, Chambersburg.
He is survived by three siblings, James Brown, Jr. (Kathleen) of Camp Hill, Jeffrey Brown of Chambersburg, and Stacey Rickard (Rahn) of Chambersburg; four nephews and nieces, Jason Brown (Kaylyn), Amy Brown, Jeffrey Brown Jr., and Jennifer Reddick (Jason); a great-niece, Elliatt Brown; and a great-nephew, Daughtry Reddick.
Services under the direction of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center will be private. A memorial celebration of life will be held at a later date.
