Geraldine Carr Kriner, 95, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 13, 2015 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 24, 1920 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Mary Foltz Carr. Mrs.Kriner was a 1938 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School and a graduate of the former Chambersburg Business School. She was employed as a secretary by the Borough of Chambersburg, Letterkenny Army Depot and the Cedar Grove Cemetery Association. She was a life member of First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg and its Alda Bower Sunday School class. She taught in the Children’s Department at the church for many years. Mrs. Kriner was a member of the Franklin County Homemakers; a member of the Board of Directors and former Secretary of Meals on Wheels; and she volunteered during elections. She enjoyed working with ceramics and camping.
She is survived by her husband, Paul K. Kriner, whom she married November 15, 1947; two daughters, Karen Goldberg and husband Ira of Gettysburg and Kristine Culler and husband Randy of Chambersburg; and a grandson, Matthew Culler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 16, 2015 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Dr. Dianne Salter will officiate. A family interment will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 225 South Second Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
