Gina White Roman, age 74, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015, at Menno Haven Nursing Center. Born in Dundee, Scotland on September 7, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William and Jemima Angus Watson.
Gina immigrated to the United States from Scotland in 1965, arriving and working in Providence, RI and then moving to California, where she met her husband. After moving to Maryland, she was employed as an Accounting Technician for the Department of Parks and Recreation in the City of Gaithersburg, where Gina devoted 26 years. After retiring she moved to the Penn National area, started playing golf and was a member of the South Mountain Golf Club. She enjoyed being active, participating in various fitness programs; including, line dancing, jazzercise, spinning, golf, hiking, organized walks, and scuba diving. Gina also enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing with her husband, attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, gardening, traveling, and cruising.
Surviving is her husband of 43 years, Charles “Chuck” Roman; four children, Audrey Aschenbach (husband Conrad “Larry”) of Potomac, MD, Janette Slagle of Germantown, MD, Kevin J. Roman of Germantown, MD, and Brad Schroeder of Phoenix, AZ; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Isobel Vinas of Ventura, CA and Allen and Kenneth Walters of Perth, Australia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Angus.
A Memorial Service to honor her life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 12 noon in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Pastor Arthur Kuehn will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, P.O.
