Gladys Louise Cramer, 88, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday evening, July 30, 2015 at her home. Born January 6, 1927 in Waynesboro, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Lulu Shoop Haines. Gladys was a 1945 graduate of the former Washington Township High School near Waynesboro. She and her late husband owned and operated the former Suburban Laundromat in Fayetteville for many years. She was a life member of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and also held membership in Women of the Moose Lodge #1128 in Chambersburg, the Ladies Auxiliary of AMVETS Post 38 in Falling Waters, WV, the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 7674 in Niceville, FL, Order of the Amaranth Willard-Waterman Chapter #233, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem Sychar Shrine #36, Order of Eastern Star First Court Chapter #470, the Valley Cedarettes, and the Circle of Friends. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband, Richard Eugene Cramer, whom she married January 16, 1945, preceded her in death on April 20, 2004.
Gladys is survived by eight children, Gwenda Rotz and husband David, Stephen Cramer and wife Mary, Bonita Nalewak and companion John Glass, Beverly Conner (wife of the late Douglas Conner), all of Chambersburg, Richard L. Cramer of Anchorage, Alaska, Sheila Freeman and husband Thomas of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Denise Brennan and husband Robert of Saxton, PA, and Valerie Singley of Charleston, SC; twenty-two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren, eleven step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; her sister, Mary Ellen Gale of Waynesboro; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, two nephews, a son-in-law, two great-grandsons, and one step-granddaughter.
