Gladys L. Long, age 96, of Fannettsburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab Center. Born March 29, 1920, in Dry Run, PA, she was the daughter of the late John H. And Catherine Rhodes Hobble.
Mrs. Long was a homemaker most of her adult life. She enjoyed caring for her family, crocheting, cooking, and needle point. She was a member of the Metal Township Volunteer Fire Company.

Surviving are four sons, John (wife Mary) of Fannettsburg, PA; Wilbur (wife Rose) of Fannettsburg, PA; Paul (wife Donna) of Shade Gap, PA; and Harry (wife Mable) Long of Georgia; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great - great - grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Long; a daughter Shirley Peterson; sons, Richard and Larry Long; a grandson, Stewart Long; a great – grandson, Butch Meredith; and 12 siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at 11 AM at the Agett – Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA; where Rev. Samuel Sollenberger and Rev. William Bair will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Thursday. Interment will follow the service in the Reformed Church Cemetery, Fannettsburg, PA.
