Gladys Shadle

Gladys Pearl Shadle, 77, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Sunday morning, September 7, 2014 at the West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg PA. Born September 24, 1936 in Newburg, she was a daughter of the late Robert M. and Esther Pearl Rebok Reese. Mrs. Shadle retired from the Chambersburg Area School District where she had worked as an accountant in the food service department. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed flowers and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Robert O. Shadle, whom she married July 10, 1953; her daughter, Cathy Shadle (Brad Slinkard) of Chambersburg; her son, Jeffrey Shadle of Rock Hill Furnace; her grandson, Josh Shadle (Heidi) of Chambersburg; and three great-grandchildren, Riley, Bryce, and Trey Shadle, all of Chambersburg. She is also survived by her sister, L. Arlene Railing of Shippensburg; and her sister-in-law, Lois Reese of Delaware. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Reese.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Parklawns Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ruth Smith officiating.
