Glen M. Davis, 69, of Chambersburg, PA, died Wednesday evening, September 9, 2015 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born December 7, 1945 in Morristown, NJ, he was a son of the late Martin G. Davis and Iris Shaw Davis Springer. Glen was a member of the Owego Free Academy Class of 1964. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from SUNY Binghamton and a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Scranton. A US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, Glen served as an Aviation Machinists Mate aboard the USS Hornet. He retired from the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV where he worked as a Rehabilitation Counselor. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chambersburg and assisted in administering the Good Samaritan Fund. He was a member and Past President of the Central New York State Chapter of the Tourette Syndrome Association. He loved family gatherings and was an avid fan of the New York Giants. He was currently working to build a model of the USS Hornet and enjoyed spending time traveling, fishing, and cooking.
Glen is survived by his loving wife, Ardyce Ketterling, whom he married March 29, 2002; two sons, Anthony J. Davis and Glen M. Davis, Jr. and wife Angela; two step-children, Wendy Thomas and Joseph Thomas; and his grandson, Kyron Anthony Davis. He is also survived by his brother, James Davis and wife Susan; three sisters, Febb Traver and husband Mark, Tyna Huggins and husband William, and Patricia Fellar and husband Jay; his in-laws, Lawrence and Violette Ketterling; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friends. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Tina Shaw.
Family and friends will be received from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 750 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA where a memorial service to celebrate Glen’s life will begin at 2:00 PM. Rev. Rick Noll will officiate. Interment with military honors will be at 2:00 PM Friday, October 2, 2015 in the Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY with Pastor Mark Traver officiating.
