Glen Leedy

Glen E. Leedy, 85, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Menno Haven. Born January 29, 1931 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Jacob and Thesta Foreman Leedy. A 1949 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School, he was employed at the former Suplee Company in Chambersburg which later became Sealtest and then Kraft, Inc., retiring in 1991 as Supervisor after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Brethren Fellowship and a former member of Fourth Street Church of the Brethren. Glen was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling and NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy A. Kramer Leedy, whom he married July 30, 1950; two sons, Randall D. Leedy and wife Rhea of Chambersburg and Bradley R. Leedy and wife Robin of Chambersburg; a daughter, Lori A. Cowey of Dover, PA; five grandchildren, Nichole Henson of North Little Rock, AR, Justin Leedy and wife Brandi of Mercersburg, Devin Cowey and wife Carmelita of Dover, Morgan Leedy of Indianapolis, IN, and Sarah Cowey West and husband Wade of Hanover; and five great-grandchildren, Amber Henson, Kaelyn Leedy, Camdon, Westyn, and Bryleigh West. He is also survived by a brother, Richard Leedy and wife Joan of Chambersburg and a sister, Ruby Etter of Shippensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Florence Rife, Fern Rosenberry, Adaleen Peckman, Mildred Forrester, and Helen Leedy; and a brother Fred Leedy.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Menno Haven Chapel, 2075 Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA. Chaplain Vernon Isner and Rev. Manny Diaz will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:30 AM at the chapel. Private interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Menno Haven Benevolent Fund, 2011 Scotland Avenue or to The Brethren Fellowship, 339 Lincoln Way East, both in Chambersburg, PA 17201.
