Glenda K. Fogal, age 81, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at the Chambersburg Hospital on Friday, February 17, 2017. Born in St. Thomas, PA on September 26, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Violet Ricker Gardner.
Mrs. Fogal was a 1953 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. Mrs. Fogal worked at Letterkenny Army Depot as a production controller for 26 years, retiring in 1986. Artistic in nature, Mrs. Fogal along with her husband, Ben owned and operated Fogal Glassworks since 1989. She also enjoyed her beloved dog, Chloe, painting, bowling, gardening, and crocheting.
Surviving is her beloved husband of nearly 64 years, Benedict J. Fogal, whom she married February 28, 1953; two sons, Timothy Fogal (wife Susan) of Pittsford, NY and Jeffrey Fogal (wife Sharon) of Chambersburg, PA; four grandchildren, Renee Kelly, Brandi Simon (husband Hector), Benjamin Fogal, and Adam Fogal; and five great-grandchildren, Kelby, Blake, Corbin, Landon, and Braydon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Charles Gardner (wife Barb surviving).
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017, at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where the Very Rev. Fr. Luis Rodriguez will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 23 from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd. West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
