Glenn William Golden, 87, of New Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at his home. Born August 10, 1933 in Fayetteville, PA, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Rhoda Wiles Golden. Glenn was raised by his foster parents, Seibert and Blanche Gelwicks who also preceded him in death.
Glenn was employed as an orchardist at Chris Miller’s Orchard in Marion for 25 years. He was most recently employed as a truck driver with Horn’s Motor Express and Chambersburg Waste Paper. He was a member of King Street Church. Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Faye E. Myers Golden, whom he married on June 25, 1955; three daughters, Sharon K. Smith and husband Rodney of Chambersburg, Brenda S. Eyer and husband Jody of Mercersburg, and Rebecca J. Rinker of Chambersburg; six grandchildren, Amber Rinker, Stacy Myers and husband Jeffrey, Jacob Rinker, Joshua Eyer and wife Melissa, Tyler Smith and wife Jen, and Zachary Eyer and wife Whitney; 17 great grandchildren; and his brother, Leon Gelwicks and wife Nancy of Reisterstown, MD. In addition to his parents and foster parents, Glenn was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, one foster brother and one foster sister.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg.
