Glenn LaRose

April 22, 1949 — December 8, 2015

Glenn E. LaRose, 66, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Hershey Medical Center. Born April 22, 1949 in Bridgeport, CT, he was a son of the late William Joseph LaRose, Jr. and Jacqueline Pease LaRose Crayton.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Glenn served his country honorably during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed at Grove Worldwide for 30 years then at Olympic Steel as a machine operator for 13 years until his retirement in June of 2015. He attended Brethren Fellowship Church in Chambersburg where he played musical intruments in the church praise team. His hobbies included wood working and spending time with his grandchildren.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 44 years, Wilma J. (Burkholder) LaRose, whom he married on May 15, 1971; two daughters, Wendy Stahlman (husband Donald) and Kimberly Younker, both of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Jeramiah Shaffer of New Port, PA, Tiffany Shaffer of Chambersburg, and Taylor and Austin Younker, both of Chambersburg; four siblings, Craig LaRose (wife Debra) of CT, Dennis LaRose of FL, Kevin LaRose (wife Sarah) of FL, and Patricia Feliciano (husband Enrique) of CT; and two step-sisters, Linda Lewis and Debbie Pratsis, both of Virginia Beach, VA. In addition to his parents, Glenn is preceded in death by his step-father, John Crayton.

A funeral service to honor Glenn’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Brethren Fellowship Church, 339 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Manny Diaz will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 PM on Friday at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brethren Fellowship Church at the above address.
