Glenn Shade

Glenn E. Shade, Sr., age 87, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away in the Chambersburg Hospital on Monday, April 14, 2014. Born October 18, 1926 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late William E. and Sarah E. Ritter Shade.
A molder for 43 years, Mr. Shade retired from T. B Woods Company in 1988. He enjoyed music, wood working, watching John Wayne movies, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Philadelphia Eagles. Mr. Shade was a member of the former group, the Country Gospel Thymers. He was passionate about and dedicated a lot of time to the Senior Life Camp and the Prison ministry.
Surviving is his wife, of 67 years, Mary Louise Kline Shade, two children, Mary E. Pearson (husband Edward) of Shippensburg, PA and Glenn “Ed” Shade, Jr. of Chambersburg, PA; two grandchildren, Allison K. Shade and Scott I. Pearson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Berta Frey, Dorothy Zook, Clyde Shade, Bill Shade, and Zelda Strayer.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 11 AM at the Chambersburg First Church of God, 2230 Grand Point Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Philip Steele will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 6 – 8 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA and on Friday one hour prior to the service at Church. Interment will follow the service in Gipes Grove Cemetery.
