Gloria P. Bowser, 91, of Chambersburg, PA, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. Born October 30, 1921 in Palmyra, PA, she was a daughter of the late Cyrus P. and Rose M. Rudy Gensler. Gloria was the graduate of the former Mann’s Choice High school, she enjoyed gardening and cooking. In addition to being a homemaker, she and her husband were the owner/operators of Keystone Tree Service. Her beloved husband, Harry P. Bowser, whom she married January 2, 1942, preceded her in death on May 2, 2005.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane Beckman of Woodbridge, VA, and Rosemary Bowser of Fayetteville, PA; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Beckman, Jason Bowser, Phedra Barbour, and Danielle McCollum; and five great grandchildren, Keila and Darius Barbour, Ronald and Devonte Adams, and Christian McCollum. Aside from her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter Suzanne Bowser.
Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, January 21, 2013 in Everett Cemetery where Rev. Carl McKee will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd. Chambersburg, PA.
