Gloria Eileen Hartman, age 79, of Chambersburg, went home to be with The Lord, on Monday, July 8, 2024 at her home. She was born on Friday July 19, 1944, to the late Frank and Leatha Overcash. Gloria was the loving wife of John A. Hartman for more than 26 years.
Gloria is survived by four daughters: Lorie Long (Brian Snyder, Companion); Pamela A. Laye (Jesse, Husband); Connie Cessna (Mark, Husband); Ginger Rowe (Glenn, Husband). Three stepchildren: Jennifer Foster (Michael, Husband); Jamie Kolsun (David, Husband); Judson Hartman (Teta, Wife). Gloria had 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild,; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her son Alan Long.
Gloria was retired after working more than 25 years for the St. Thomas Township. Gloria loved spending time with her family and baking. She was also an avid shopper and loved spending time with her friends. She was an active member in the West Side Brethren in Church in Chambersburg. She was a devout Christian that loved the Lord. She also enjoyed watching the Jimmy Swaggart Ministry. Gloria was also an active member of the AMVETS #224 in Chambersburg, Life Member of the VFW #1599 in Chambersburg, Life Member of the American Legion Post # 46 in Chambersburg, and the Moose Club #1790 in Mercersburg.
Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 at West Side Brethren in Christ Church, 2665 Lincoln Way W, Chambersburg, PA with Pastor W. David Kent officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the West Side Brethren in Christ Church benevolence fund in her name at the above address.
