Glynette Anne (Geyer) (Hege) Laidig, age 50, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at her home. Born June 24, 1963, she was a daughter of Glenn Alfred Geyer, Sr. and the late Esther May Albright Geyer.
A 1983 graduate of CASHS, Glynette later earned her LPN certificate in 1998 from the Practical Nursing Program of Franklin County Career and Technology Center. After receiving her LPN certificate, Glynette worked at the Episcopal Home in Shippensburg and most recently, Quincy Village. She enjoyed fishing, traveling to the beach and spending time with her family. Taking care of others was her passion.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Paul Laidig of Orrstown; two children, Jessica Benshoff and husband Aaron of Chambersburg, and Jared Hege and wife Aubrey of Hampstead, NC; two grandchildren, Kaylee and Carter Benshoff; and three siblings, Stephen Geyer and wife Michelle, of Upper Strasburg, PA, Glenn Geyer, Jr., of FL, and Billie Gettel of Danvers, MA.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 10, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202, where Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
