Grace Anderson Morganthall, 92, of Chambersburg, died Jan. 11, 2013, at Providence Place Retirement Community following a lingering illness.
Born Sept. 5, 1920, she was the daughter of Elmer S. and Goldie Anderson of Detroit, Mich. She attended Michigan State Normal College, now Eastern Michigan University, in Ypsilanti. She married Frederick Joseph Morganthall on Dec. 3, 1949, in Plymouth, Mich. Her husband preceded her in death in December 2002.
She enjoyed her work in banking in Grove City, Ohio; at Woodstream Corporation in Lititz, Pa.; and at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Grove City Chapter No. 502, and First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg. She enjoyed reading and playing bridge.
Mrs. Morganthall is survived by her son Fred Morganthall II (Judy) of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren Krysta Friedrich (Will) and Joey Morganthall (Caitlin), both of Charlotte; and great granddaughter Addison Friedrich. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Anderson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. at Providence Place, Chambersburg. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
