Grace Mowery

Grace M. Mowery, 84, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Friday morning, July 18, 2014 at her home. Born May 3, 1930 in Washington Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Edna M. Sheffler Stevens. She attended Waynesboro Area Schools and was employed for 40 years at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg. She attended Christian Bible Fellowship Church and her hobbies included sewing at home and doing crafts. She was a life member of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the former Unity Club of Franklin County, and attended Elderday at Menno Haven.

Surviving are three children, Deena Abeyta of Colorado Springs, CO, Jay E. Mowery, and Michael S. Mowery, both of Chambersburg; two grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, July 28, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Robert Moats officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Monday.
