Grace Shindledecker

Grace T. Shindledecker, 65, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 6, 1952, in Lebanon, PA, she was a daughter of the late David L. and Etta Robinette Russell.

Mrs. Shindledecker worked for the Chambersburg Area School District for a number of years as a custodian as well as a crossing guard, retiring in 2016. She was known to have a very big heart; always willing to lend a helping hand and for her generosity. She attended the Salvation Army Chambersburg Corps and volunteered in a number of capacities with the Salvation Army. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with and taking care of her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Grace is survived by her husband of 34 years, Leroy Shindledecker, of Chambersburg; her daughter, Tammy Boyer (boyfriend Mike Theimer) of Scotland, PA; her grandchildren, Carissa Hannah, Samantha, Kyra, and Tabitha; her great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Olivia; and her sisters, Sue Lehman, of Chambersburg, and Rosalind Martin of Clear Spring Maryland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Edmond Russell, David Russell, Jr., and Nora Dehart.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 4, 2018, in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Murray Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Gettysburg, PA.
