Grant I. Harding, 84, died September 3, 2021 at Laurel Lakes Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Chambersburg, PA after several years battling dementia. He was born May 8, 1937 in Reading, PA and graduated from the Reading High School in 1955. Grant worked for Gulf Oil/Chevron in the Baltimore/Washington area in marketing management and real estate for many years before retiring in 1994. He returned to the workforce and worked for 12 years with the State of Maryland in properties and real estate, retiring in 2013.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Harding and husband Rick Hugendubler of Chambersburg; son Joel Harding and wife Grace of Ft. Indiantown Gap, PA; step-sons Mark R. Keller and wife Connie of Littlestown, PA and Greg Keller of Manchester, MD; his grandson Jonathan Hugendubler of Baltimore, MD; and his brother, Leon Harding of Reading, PA. In addition to his parents, Grant was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara.
Before relocating to Laurel Lakes in October of 2018, Grant lived in Reisterstown, MD for over 50 years. During those years he was active in many organizations. He was an estate auctioneer and had his own auction for many years, Reisterstown Auction Center. He also operated the Reisterstown Flea Market and EZ4U Car Wash, as well as an ice business.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, September 10, 2021 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Chaplain Adam Leeper will officiate. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon – 1:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
