Guy Sentz, Jr., 91, died Aug. 30, 2016, at Manor Care in Chambersburg, PA. Born in Emmitsburg, MD, he was the son of the late Guy Sedwick Sentz, Sr. and Loretta E. Paul Sentz.
A U.S. Army veteran, Guy served honorably during WWII, having fought in Normandy, North France, and Rhineland. He served in the 90th infantry and served under General Patton, whom he had great respect for. Guy was wounded December 10, 1944; he was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and the World War II Victory Medals, among others. He retired from Interstate Ford and had worked at the former Poe Funeral Home in Waynesboro, PA.
Surviving is his wife, Dorothy Barrick Sentz, whom he married September 10, 1995; two children, Guy “Butch” Sentz and Saundra Williamson; two sisters, Betty Oberholtzer and Lorraine Davis; and step-daughter, Sue Rubeck (husband Larry); step-son, Charles “Chuck” Cook (wife Mary Lou); and 12 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Sat., Sept. 10 at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Chambersburg, PA. Visitation will be one hour prior. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
