Gwynne Kauffman

Gwynne Jacob “Jake” Kauffman, age 80, of Shippensburg, PA passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Shippensburg, PA on October 27, 1936, he was a son of the late Ivan Kauffman and Helen Wingert Kauffman.
Jake was employed by PennDOT for 30 years, as a fuel truck driver, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed spending time outdoors; hunting, gardening, and doing yard work. He also liked canning anything from fruits and vegetables, to deer meat. Jake and his wife attended New Franklin Assembly of God.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Gladys Wagner Kauffman, whom he married March 1, 1956, four children, Sharon (husband Fred) Etter, Glenn “Jake” (wife Dixie) Kauffman, Brad (wife Brenda) Kauffman, Brian (wife Cindy) Kauffman, all of Shippensburg, PA; seven grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jake was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Kauffman, and his sister, Grace Nenninger.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. William E. Dick will officiate. Interment will follow in Fetterhoff Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the funeral home.
