H. Lester Diller, 90, of Chambersburg, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born on May 7, 1926 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Silas S. Diller and Emma R. Horst Diller. He was the widower of Martha Stred Diller, who preceded him in death on June 11, 1978. Lester was a faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chambersburg, the Green Township Lions Club, and a Life Member of the Chambersburg Club. He was the owner and operator of the former Diller Oil Company, which operated gas stations in Chambersburg and Shippensburg. He is survived by four children, Leslie Butz (Mike) of Bethlehem, PA, Barry Diller (Karen) of Chambesburg, Susan West of Marietta, GA, and Beth Bulger (Jerry) of Cumming, GA; four brothers, Ray, Charles, John, and James and a sister, Fannie Frey, all of Chambersburg. He will also be lovingly missed by his eight grandchildren, Spencer, Molly, Matt, Laura, Granger, Graycen, Anna and Tate. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul “Jake”, Robert, and Leroy, and two sisters, Isabelle Martin and Louise Frey. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, in the St. Paul United Methodist Church, 750 Norland Ave. Chambersburg, with Rev. Rick Noll officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. There will be no viewing, however the family will receive friends at the church from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday.
