Hans Detlefsen

Hans Christian Detlefsen, age 71, of Fayetteville, PA passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014 at his home. Born September 30, 1942 in Flensburg Germany, he was the son of the late Henry and Hennie Schroeder Detlefsen. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Hans served honorably during the Vietnam Conflict then went on to earn a B.A. in History from John Jay College in New York City, N.Y. He worked as a manager for Exxon Mobile for 26 years until his retirement in 2001.

Hans is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathleen O’Reilly Detlefsen, whom he married in 1970; three sons, Jack Detlefsen and wife Jennifer of Virginia Beach, VA, Christian Detlefsen and wife Ainsley of San Francisco, CA, and William Detlefsen and wife Jennifer of Indianapolis, IN; and five granddaughters.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
