Harold W. Kuhn, 91, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday morning, August 23, 2018 at The Shook Home. Born February 14, 1927 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Harvey W. and Mary Ann Rotz Kuhn. Mr. Kuhn worked on the family farm for many years and then began employment with the US Postal Service in 1948 first as a rural carrier and later at the Chambersburg Post Office, retiring on December 31, 1982. He also worked alongside his wife at their antique store for many years. He was affiliated with Faith Church of God Harbor Light in Chambersburg. He was a member of the St. Thomas Sportsmen’s Association where he was named Sportsman of the Year in 1988. An avid hunter, he was a member of the Bear Run Klub, and also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and antiques.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Alleman Kuhn, whom he married March 31, 1951; his daughter, Connie Slye and husband E. David of Greencastle; a grandson, Jason Reichard and wife Kristi of York Springs; two great-grandchildren Owen and Weston Reichard; and his sister, Mary Louise Harshman of Chambersburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Niswander, Iva Mae Ommert, and Helen McCurdy; and a brother, Curtis Kuhn.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, August 27, 2018 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Andy Ficks will officiate. Interment will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
