Harry O. Pfister, 78, of Chambersburg, Pa, died unexpectedly Monday morning, April 22, 2013 at his home. Born November 6, 1934 in Mt. Savage, MD, he was a son of the late Henry Sr., and Dora Derrick Pfister. He retired from CAN-AM Steel after thirty years and was employed part-time at Giant on Norland Avenue in Chambersburg. Mr. Pfister was a member of the Brethren Fellowship.
He is survived by his wife, Laurell “Missy” Dement Pfister, whom he married June 1, 2006; two children, Tim Pfister and Vicky Pfister; nine step-children, Eddie, Anne, William, Newton, Jean, Laverne, David, Jason, and Shannon; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Alice and Dot; and four brothers, Frankie, Edwin, Lester, and Henry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Polly.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 27, 2013 at The Brethren Fellowship, 339 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Manny Diaz officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at 2:30 PM Saturday at Lovettsville Union Cemetery, Lovettsville, VA.
