Harry M. Taylor age 91, of Chambersburg, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Chambers Pointe. Born December 16, 1932, in Fulton County, PA, he was the son of the late Wilbert and Luella Price Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a 1952 graduate of Williamsport Technical School. He was a long-time employee of Middle Department Inspection Agency, working as an electrical Instructor for 37 years, retiring in 2000; however, he continued working on an as needed basis until 2017. Mr. Taylor also served on the board for the Chambersburg Boro as an electrical license Instructor. He enjoyed photography, softball, golf, and boating on the Potomac River. A talented musician, he played guitar, bass, tickled the ivories on the keyboard, square danced and played in a band.
Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Genevieve O’Donnell Taylor; three children, Larry M. Taylor (Cynthia) of Spring Run, PA, Linda J. Dunkle of Spring Run, PA, and David H. Taylor (Janet) of Mocksville, NC; daughter in law, Tracey Taylor of Fayetteville, PA; eight grandchildren, Kevin L. Dunkle (Tara) of Fayetteville, PA, Denise R. Cornelious (Philip) of Freeport, PA, Lance M. Taylor of Spring Run, PA, Jeffrey A. Dunkle of Chambersburg, PA, Ryan G. Taylor, Devyn L. Schooley (Elliott) of Fayetteville, PA, Lucas C. Taylor of Charlotte, NC, and Lauren M. Taylor of CO; six great-grandchildren; one step great-grandson; four great-great grandchildren; five siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory D. Taylor in 2020, and five siblings.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 11AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
