Hazel Addlesberger

Hazel L. “Suzy” Addlesberger, 68 of Chambersburg, died peacefully Thursday morning, November 10, 2011 at her home, with her husband of 51 years by her side. Born November 7, 1943 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Hazel Cockley Leisher and a foster daughter of the late Edwin D., Jr. and Nancy D. Strite. She was a partner with her husband at their family business, the former Addlesberger Building Supplies in Chambersburg from 1977 to 1998. Suzy dedicated the majority of her adult life to caring for her father, mother-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

She is survived by her beloved husband, James B. Addlesberger, whom she married November 5, 1960; two children, James B. Addlesberger and wife Mary and Kathleen A. Hoffman and husband Rodney, all of Chambersburg; seven grandchildren, Rachelle Pecovsky of Washington, DC, Chandra Pecovsky of Georgia, Anthony Addlesberger, Justin Addlesberger, and Marina Addlesberger, all of Chambersburg, Christopher Emory and wife Ashley of Shippensburg, and Adam Emory of Groveport, OH; and six great-grandchildren, Colin Dillow, Zachary Ianetta, Cameron Emory, Reese Igneri, Savana Emory, and Harmony Tenley. She is also survived by five brothers, Arnold E. Leisher and Merle E. Leisher, both of Chambersburg, Robert D. Leisher of Gulph Mills, PA, Eber K. Leisher and wife Nancy of Shippensburg, and Elden R. “Whitey” Leisher and wife Victoria of Chambersburg; one sister, Ocie Lee McClure of Chambersburg; a sister-in-law, Cinda Leisher (widow of Harry G.) of Chambersburg; two foster brothers, Edwin D. Strite, III of Florida and Thomas Strite of Virginia; two foster sisters, Linda Irwin of Pennsylvania and Margie Winstead of Arizona; two godsons, Eric and Jason Krugh of Pennsylvania; fifteen nephews; ten nieces; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and foster parents she was preceded in death by a son, Eric A. Addlesberger; three brothers, George W. “Orp” Leisher, Marvin G. Leisher, and Harry G. Leisher; a sister, Starr L. Suders; a niece, Sherry Weiser; and a nephew, Robert Suders.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Keith M. Carroll at Noon on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:30 PM.
