Helen Barilone

Helen Claire Barilone, 94, of Chambersburg, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 at Menno Haven-Chambers Pointe. Born November 28, 1926 in Maynard, MA, she was a daughter of the late Charles Patrick and Ann Rodgers Spurrell. Her beloved husband, Daniel Barilone, preceded her in death on January 16, 1996.

Helen was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg. She was a woman of strong faith. She enjoyed big band music and spending time with her family and friends. Helen was mostly self-employed as a seamstress. Early on Helen made costumes for a dance studio in Maynard. Locally she altered clothing until her eyesight failed.

She is survived by two children, Maryann Fisher (Robert) of Chambersburg and Michael Barilone (Karen) of Easton, PA; four grandchildren, Bridget Fura (Kevin), Michael Fisher (Karrie), Quinn Barilone (Jon Van Kooten), and Shelby Barilone-Prichard (Brianne); four great grandchildren, Leo, Finley, Haeden and Jace; and one sister, Ann Marie Rickert of Madison, CT. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Richard Lyons will officiate. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine in Easton, PA at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christ Catholic Church, 279 North Second Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201, SpiriTrust Lutheran LIFE, 850 5th Ave. Chambersburg PA 17201 or to Menno Haven-Chambers Pointe, 300 Ridgeview, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
