Helen M. Cover, 90, of Chambersburg, PA, died at 3:22 PM Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born December 26, 1920 in LaCarne, OH, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Marie Libben McRitchie. A graduate of the Franklin Business College in Columbus, OH, she was employed for many years at Standard Products Company of Port Clinton, OH. Mrs. Cover was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chambersburg and its AJ White Hutton Sunday School Class. She was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church in Port Clinton and was active with the Women of E.L.C. She was also a member and former President of the Women’s Organization at both the Port Clinton and Chambersburg churches. Mrs. Cover a member of the Chambersburg Hospital Auxiliary, volunteered at the Chambersburg Hospital, and was one of the first delivery persons with Meals on Wheels in Chambersburg.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard K. Cover, whom she married April 23, 1944; four children, Thomas K. Cover and wife Daphne of Baltimore, MD, Jane E. Love and husband Dennis of Chambersburg, Gary R. Cover and wife Vickie of East Berlin, PA, and Ann M. Haugh and husband Michael of York Haven, PA; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Lou Jessen of Chambersburg.
A graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Steven Dorsett at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.
