Helen Hoover

Helen Louise Hoover, age 87, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born January 1, 1926 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Alta Lehman Metz.
Mrs. Hoover worked on the assembly line at Letterkenny Army Depot, H. J. Heinz Co., and Corning, where she retired after a number of years of service. Growing up on a farm, she enjoyed animals, especially horses and dogs. Mrs. Hoover also enjoyed bird watching, flowers, and visiting friends in the area when she was able.
Surviving is her husband of 59 years, Robert E. Hoover, whom she married on February 25, 1954; three children, Michael Hoover of Tustin, CA, Gerald Hoover (wife Patricia) of Marion, PA, and Donna Rosenberry (husband Glenn) of Ft. Loudon, PA; four grandchildren, Justin Hoover (fiancé Sara Cooper) of Stevensville, MD, Valerie Rosenberry of Orlando, FL, Zachary Hoover of Chambersburg, PA, and Mitchell Rosenberry of Ft. Loudon, PA; and one great-grandson, Everett Robert Hoover.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Pastor John Hoffman will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery.
