Helen R. Robinson, 93, of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 in Menno Haven. Born on October 12, 1923 in Scotland, PA, she was a daughter of the late Charles Reath and Stella Horn Reath. She was the widow of Jack L. Robinson, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Helen attended Chambersburg schools, including the former Chambersburg Business School. A busy homemaker, Helen had also worked for the Stanley Clothing Company in Chambersburg. She attended the Chambersburg First Church of God and Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church. She also enjoyed volunteering her time with the Cumberland Valley Visitors Center in Chambersburg, doing word finds, reading books and reading her Bible. She dedicated countless hours attending her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events.
Surviving are five children, William D. Robinson (Sandra), Judy A. Metzler, Beverly J. Robinson, and Christine L. Baer, all of Chambersburg; and Robert E. Robinson (Jane) of Mont Alto; three sisters, Edna Mooney of Chambersburg; Nellie Brookens of Florida, and Alma Collins of Chambersburg; ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mike Metzler, two brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services to honor Helen’s life will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 12, 2017, in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, with Pastor Don Drury and Pastor Michelle Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
