Helen Sipes, 82, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Friday morning, August 20, 2021 at Brookview Nursing Center. Born March 3, 1939 in Ft. Loudon, PA, she was a daughter of the late George E. and Eliza K. Kaetzel Zeis. She had been employed at the former Mercersburg Dress Factory and at Goodwill Industries. She was a member of Christina Missionary Alliance in Chambersburg. Helen loved spending time with her grandchildren; reading; crafts; working outside; mowing; and gardening. Her husband, Graffious A. Sipes, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Miller and husband Richard A. Miller of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Brad A. Miller (Melissa), Brian A. Miller (Chrissy), Stephanie A. Champion (Hugh), and Kelli F. Polly (Chase); nine great-grandchildren, Kelsi Champion, Ava Champion, Sylvie Champion, Isaac Champion, Brandon Miller, Natalie Miller, Charlotte Miller, and Auggie Miller; two step-children, Keith Sipes (Susan) and Wendy Sipes; two step-grandchildren, Kassia College and Taylor Sipes; two step-great grandchildren, Karsyn and Damon Sipes; two sisters, Esther Graham and Verna Youse; and three brothers, Roy Zeis, Daniel Zeis, and Howard Zeis. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy J. Zeis and Ruth B. Hamilton; and two brothers, George E. Zeis and John E. Zeis.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the Chambersburg Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 230 Siloam Road, chambersburg, PA 17201. Interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
