Henry M. Bonhoff, Jr., age 84, of Fayetteville, PA and formerly of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at his home. Born July 26, 1934, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Henry M. and Madeline Hessler Bonhoff, Sr.
Mr. Bonhoff worked for Bell Atlantic Telephone for 38 years, retiring in 1991, as a District Manager. He was also a member of Maryland Army National Guard for a number of years. Mr. Bonhoff enjoyed woodworking, building model ships, fishing, sports, especially watching the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 24 years, Roberta F. “Robin” Bonhoff, whom he married on January 5, 1995; eight children, David Bonhoff (wife Carlene) of Hagerstown, MD, Mary Jane Miller (husband Charles) of Hagerstown, MD, Nancy Spickler of Waynesboro, PA, Ann Jochum of Hagerstown, MD, Lisa Fuscsick of Rohrersville, MD, Alan Kitchen of Hagerstown, MD, Mark Kitchen (wife Dana) of Hagerstown, MD, and Jeff Bonhoff of Rohrersville, MD; 14 grandchildren, 5 great- grandchildren; a brother Robert Lee Bonhoff (wife Mary) of Baltimore, MD; sister-in-law, Audrey Bonhoff; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Cook Bonhoff; two brothers, one in infancy and Francis Bonhoff.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Monday, March 4, 2019, at 11 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Fr. Richard Lyons will celebrate. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 4, 2019, from 9-10 AM at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. A private inurnment will follow the Mass in Green Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Hope Lodge, 125 Lucy Ave., Hummelstown, PA 17036.
