Hank went on to study chemical engineering for two years at Dayton University before leaving school to work with his father in their newly formed business Nursery Supplies, Inc. As the company grew Hank was joined by several of his 7 siblings in the business over the years, however his brother Theodore “Ted” Jr. was steadfast in his commitment and became his true business partner and best friend. Hank moved the headquarters of Nursery Supplies to Chambersburg in 1993 and continued to grow the business with his wife, his brother, his sons and over 800 employees nationwide.

Hank was a true renaissance man who studied and began collecting wines at a young age and became a student of classical music with his focus on Italian operas, he earned his private pilot’s license in 1970 and took up singing as a serious hobby in the 1980’s.  In addition to his highly respected skills as a business leader and entrepreneur, He served on the boards of numerous local and national organizations. Despite all of this, Hank considered his family to be his biggest accomplishment and his greatest joy. His smile was never as big as when he was with wife Jan and they were surrounded by their loved ones.
