Herbert Mallory

Herbert A. Mallory, 93, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born August 28, 1930 in Sayre, PA, he was the son of the late Herbert A. and Dorothy Woodworth Mallory. Mr. Mallory served honorably with the US Navy for four years and then continued his service with the US Air Force for 16 years, prior to his retirement in 1970. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Upon retiring from the military he enrolled at the Mont Alto campus of Penn State University where he earned a degree in Forestry. He then began a career at Letterkenny Army Depot where he retired as a Quality Control Specialist in 1992. He was an avid reader and enjoyed woodworking, camping, hunting, and traveling with his wife on their motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Bristol Mallory, whom he married September 14, 1952; two daughters, Victoria Chapman and Kim Lininger and husband Ronald, all of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Everett, Athena, and Travis; and three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Claire, and Emma. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Colegrove.

Private interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
