Hilary Tadych

Hilary S. Tadych, 73, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 2, 1945 in Hexham, England and raised in Montrose, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late George and Mona Saddler Scott. She began her career at Navy Federal Credit Union while residing in Scotland and upon moving to the United States was employed at the former Letterkenny Federal Credit Union and then at Patriot Federal Credit Union. She went on to serve as CEO at the former Ameri-Can Federal Credit Union which later became the American Community Federal Credit Union. She was last employed as Executive Vice President at 1st Ed. Credit Union, retiring in 2014 after nearly 35 years of credit union service. She was a lifetime member of the VFW. An avid reader, she enjoyed being a part of book clubs with her friends. She also enjoyed knitting, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. When she could, she enjoyed going home to Scotland to visit family there.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharyn L. Tadych and Stacy L. Guyer (husband Eric); and two granddaughters, Hayley and Payton Guyer, all of Chambersburg. She is also survived by her sister, Janice Petrie and husband David of Montrose, Scotland and her former husband, Edmund M. Tadych of Fayetteville, PA.

A memorial service to celebrate Hilary’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Bob Keener will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
