Houston Dawson, 61, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 24, 1956 in Blakely, GA, he was a son of the late Howard Dawson and Rosa Lee Howard.
Mr. Dawson worked in farming most of his life but was most recently employed as a janitor at Goodwill. A devoted Christian, he attended Unity In Christ Church in Chambersburg where he sang in the Mighty Men of Valor choir and served on the Usher Board. He also enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by six siblings, Johnny Johnson of Philadelphia, Marie Johnson (husband Raymond) of Chambersburg, Rosetta Filmore of Atlanta, GA, Palestine Sims of Atlanta, GA, David Filmore,Jr. of Blakely, GA and Willis C. Filmore of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and numerous friends and acquaintances. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Arthur Flowers, James Filmore, and Annie Ruth Gray.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Unity In Christ Church, 4301 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Dr. Lois Waters will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
