Hugh A. Wiesman, age 78, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on February 10, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Michaelene (Mickey) Tresco Wiesman; two sons, John H. Wiesman of Mississippi and Robert H. Wiesman of Arizona; four grandchildren, Mario, Jonah, Anthony and Ethan; a sister, Maria Ryan of Peoria, IL; Michaelene’s siblings and their spouses; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jane Lowther Wiesman.
Hugh was born in Buffalo, NY in 1943, son of the late Edward and Janet Wolf Wiesman. He was a 1965 graduate of Boston College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. After graduation he served honorably in the U.S. Air Force for four years and continued his service as a Systems Analyst at Letterkenny Army Depot and later Fort Detrick, where he retired after 37 years. While working full time, he earned an MBA from Shippensburg University. Hugh was a member of the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed his fish pond, was a passionate, meticulous gardener who appreciated Nature in all its forms, especially the beauty of Spring. He was a man of few words but his presence was always felt and his quick wit was a joy to all who knew him. Hugh was an avid reader, American history buff, Buffalo Bills fan, consummate master of crossword puzzles, and a unique problem solver, often creating a tool to fix something when no tool existed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg.
