Ingeborg “Inge” R. Leininger, 84, of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 at Shippensburg Health Care Center. Born January 9, 1939 in Upper Silesia, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Richard Pakosch and Magda Dziuk Pakosch.
Following her high school graduation, Ingeborg attended St. Joseph Business School in Germany. She was employed at the Chambersburg Memorial YMCA for 30 plus years as a desk attendant. She excelled at welcoming patrons, promoting the YMCA at community events, scheduling, and leading tours for prospective members. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, watching the Steelers play, and being outdoors in nature and gardening. She always had a soft spot in her heart for dogs.
Surviving are her children, Juanita Kauffman (husband Kenneth) of Chambersburg, Susan Armstrong of Carlisle, and Allan “Shane” Leininger (Nancy Funt) of Waynesboro; step children, Calvin J. Frederick III (wife Dixie), Marteena Starr (husband Robert), and William Frederick (Flo Runyan), all of Chambersburg; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben D. Leininger, Jr., who passed away on May 13, 1980; and her long time companion of 42 years, Calvin J. Frederick, Jr., who passed away on January 4th, 2023.
Private interment will be held in Norland Cemetery.
