Irene (Hameza) Tardosky, 81, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2016, at her home after a brief battle with cancer. Born March 21, 1935, in Greenfield Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Peter Hameza. She graduated from Scranton Lackawanna Business School. She worked at Sears, Olympia Candy Kitchen, but her favorite job was being a homemaker.
Irene enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, celebrating her Russian background, bird watching, dogs, but most of all, spending time with family. She volunteered at St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she was a member, and was active in the Cedarettes. She was a kind and humble woman who always put others’ needs in front of her own. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (Mam-Mam and Grammy), aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert C. Tardosky, Chambersburg of 59 years; three children: Cheryl T. (Steve) Anderson, Mary (Michael) Finucane, and Richard (Natalie) Tardosky; and nine grandchildren: Thomas (Karen) Gift and Amber Gift, Robert Finucane, Meagan and Stephanie Anderson, Rachel and Adam Tardosky, and John (Chelsea) Finucane and Daniel Finucane, who were all very fortunate to have had her in their lives and will miss her presence dearly.
Memorial services will be held at Noon on Friday, April 8, 2016 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 750 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Rick A. Noll will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00AM to 12:00 PM Friday at the church. Immediately following church services, graveside services will be held at Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
