Isabel Ott

I. Virginia Ott, 86, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Shook Home. Born September 12, 1928 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Alonzo and Hazel Gipe Jones. She attended the former Chambersburg High School and was a homemaker most of her life. After her children were grown, she worked for several years at the former Newberry’s Department Store in Chambersburg. She was a member of Scotland United Methodist Church and NARFE Chapter 1063. Her hobbies included word books and crocheting. Her husband, Elwood C. Ott, whom she married September 15, 1945, preceded her in death on May 19, 2002.

She is survived by her daughter, Saundra Stahl of Chambersburg; five grandchildren, Dawn Gaver of Gettysburg, Crystal Harvey of Mercersburg, Shawn Nall of Lavern, CA, Scott Pierce of Council Bluff, IA, and Van Pierce of Oregon; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Stewart of Chambersburg; a brother, Robert Jones of Martinsburg, WV; six nieces; and four nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Van E. Ott; and a sister, Janice Rosenberry.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, October 30, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Bruce Gowe officiating. Interment will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
