J Edward Uglow, 66, of Chambersburg, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 31, 2014. Born on July 28, 1948, he was the son of the late Jack Uglow and Thelma Keyser Uglow.
A 1966 graduate of St. Thomas High School, Ed attended Shippensburg University. He retired as the former President of Jerr Dan Corporation and went on to build and create Majestic Ridge Golf Course.
His interests included golfing and spending time at the YMCA and with his grandchildren. He had a passion for great food and Rock n Roll music.
He is survived by his life partner, Barb Channing of Chambersburg; two children, Brent Uglow of Chambersburg and Nikki Uglow Foley (husband Ryan) and grandchildren, Jackson, Isabella and Caelyn Foley, all of Baltimore; 2 brothers, Bill and Craig and his sister in law, Jan Uglow. He will also be greatly missed by 2 nephews, Dane and Ryan Uglow, a niece, Megan Uglow, and a long list of friends. He was proceeded in death by his younger brother, Mike and younger sister, Tracey Uglow.
A memorial service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, August 9, 2014 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg, with Rev. Alvin Hezlep officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10am to 12pm on Saturday. Private interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
